IHAS immediately isolated and disconnected the entire network the same day. On the same day IHAS also initiated its incident response plan and took immediate steps to investigate the incident and engage cybersecurity experts.
The investigation included a review of internal security systems to confirm that extensive procedures and tools already in place are strengthened to further safeguard against a breach of data security in the future.
Since then, IHAS has built a new computer network and has implemented state-of-the-art software to prevent, detect, and recover from cyber threats in real time.
Once it was determined what data may have been stolen, the identification of individuals and their contact information was gathered to notify affected individuals.
IHAS is reaching out directly to individuals whose data may have been in the stolen files.
