It's an amazing program administered by the Public Utilities Commission of Texas that helps qualifying low-income households in Texas reduce their monthly phone or broadband service costs. 📞 If you qualify, you could benefit from Lifeline by getting a reduction of up to $12.75 on your basic monthly telephone rate! 🤑 It's a fantastic way to make phone service more affordable for those who need it most. Just keep in mind that the program doesn't cover the cost of additional services like caller ID or voice messaging. Oh, and here's another perk! The Health and Human Services with The University of North Texas Health Science Center wants to hear from you. Who? Veterans, adults aged 50 and older, persons with one or more disabilities, unpaid or family caregivers or both, LTSS providers, and services provider networks What? HSS wants to hear about your experience with long-term services and supports in Texas. They've created a dynamic survey with approximately 40 questions. The survey takes 10-15 minutes to finish.     Pink October is a significant month dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer- a disease that affects millions of individuals worldwide. During this month, various organizations, communities, and individuals come together to educate, support, and advocate for breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally, with early detection playing a crucial role in improving survival rates. It's essential to be aware of the risk factors associated with it, such as age, family history, genetic mutations, and certain lifestyle factors like obesity and alcohol consumption. Regular self-examinations and clinical breast exams, along with mammography screenings, are vital for early detection. It's recommended that women begin annual mammograms starting at the age of 40, or earlier if they have a higher risk. Additionally, being familiar with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, such as a lump or thickening in the breast, changes in breast size or shape, nipple discharge, or skin changes, can help in early identification. Treatment options for breast cancer depend on various factors, including the stage of the cancer, the individual's overall health, and personal preferences. Treatment may involve surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy, or a combination of these approaches. It's crucial for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer to work closely with their healthcare team to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for their specific situation. In addition to raising awareness, Pink October also serves as a platform to support individuals and families affected by breast cancer. It's a time to show compassion, provide resources, and promote a sense of community. Many organizations and charities organize events, fundraisers, and educational campaigns to support breast cancer research, patient support programs, and advocacy efforts.   • CDS Employers That Received COVID-19 Grant: Required Reporting due Sept. 30, 2023

    How to Access the Reporting Portal To complete and submit the Funding Utilization Report, CDS employers awarded under “CDS-CHRG” should visit the CDS CHRG reporting portal and follow instructions. Recipients of this award may receive assistance for the completion of this report, including from a designated representative, family member, etc. How to Confirm Your Report Submission SurveyMonkey does not automatically send an email confirmation upon submission of your report. In place of this, HHSC Provider Finance will send a confirmation email on a rolling basis to each individual that submitted their CDS-CHRG report, based on the email address written in the submitted report. If you submitted your report and have not yet received a confirmation email, it may take multiple days after submission for an email to be sent to you. Note: If the “Submit” button at the end of the report has been clicked, and the subsequent thank you message displays on your screen, then HHSC has received your submission.   • CMS Takes Action to Protect Health Care Coverage for Children and Families

    Attention everyone! We have some important news regarding your health care coverage. There's been an advisory sent out about potential eligibility system issues that may result in improper disenrollment from Medicaid or CHIP. CMS found that some states are erroneously conducting family-level renewals instead of individual-level renewals, which can lead to eligibility errors. Per the State-Reported Preliminary Assessment, as of September 21, 2023, Texas has not reported this issue. It's crucial for you to stay informed to ensure that your access to healthcare remains uninterrupted. For more information on this notice, follow the links below.   • Did you know about these EVV Portal updates?

    The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) recently made updates to the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Portal computer-based training (CBT) materials in the TMHP Learning Management System (LMS). These updates aim to provide you with the most up-to-date information and ensure a seamless experience with the EVV system. The following modules have been updated: 1. EVV CBT Module 2: Researching, Selecting, and Onboarding with an EVV System - This module now includes updated information on researching, selecting, and onboarding with the new state-approved EVV vendor, HHAeXchange (HHAX). - Additionally, it covers the new method of submitting an EVV Proprietary System Request Form in the EVV Portal. 2. EVV CBT Module 4: EVV Portal - This module has been updated with the latest information on the new method of submitting and managing EVV Proprietary System Request Forms in the EVV Portal. It is important to stay informed and up-to-date to ensure a smooth workflow and compliance with the EVV requirements. If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding these updates, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team. To access the required EVV portal training, use the following steps: Log into the TMHP LMS. Go to the EVV Training Learning Path. Go to the Required EVV Training section, and click TMHP EVV CBT. Complete all modules to receive your certificate of completion. A username and password are required to access the TMHP LMS. To create an account, visit the TMHP LMS New User Registration web page.
